Agape Safe Place Youth Leaders Meet with Judge Mosely

Dec 20th, 2007

JC is the youth coordinator and has worked with Community Partner Aaron Edwards to successfully implement a Youth Leadership Group. The group expressed an interest in the criminal justice system and Aaron helped organize a tour of the County Jail and a visit with Judge Mosely. They have plans to meet with the Community Prosecutor and the MPD officers and Sheriffs Deputies working to keep their community safe. This is all part of their Crime Strategy Initiative. After listening to Judge Mosely, one Safe Place youth realized that ‘I’ve got those same problems’ and that he had several tickets that he needed to take responsibility for before they became a larger issue. He asked the Judge and the group walked through the process of filling out the forms and going before the judge to resolve the issue.
