Columbia Park 5th District National Night Out

Aug 4th, 2009

The 5th District Police Department held a National Night Out Resource Fair and Block Party on August 4 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Columbia Park, 1365 W. Columbia Street. This was the first time to organize the yearly National Night Out event at the park and by all accounts it was a great success. It is an area all too often plagued by violence and resident groups and police felt it was time to turn the corner and start anew. Residents came out in strength to support the effort and a safe and enjoyable time was had by all. We all hope that this will inspire more residents to join in and support community policing and a cleaner, safer neighborhood for everyone.
