Last Safe Night for the Summer Held at Neighborhood House

Aug 14th, 2009

This was the last of the summer Safe Night series, with Neighborhood House Safe Place hosting the event. Although there could have been a better turn out, everything else went as planned and all of the 29 youth participated fully and were well mannered throughout the evening.

Neighborhood House and Safe & Sound staff worked together to make the event a success in every way. For example, one of their youth leaders provided the DJ services for the dance. Other collaborators providing anti-violence presentations and positive interactions with youth included the Sheriff Department, Milwaukee Police Department District 3, and Peace Lab. Lastly, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Office of Victims Services provided $2000 in  funding for the summer Safe Nights, which made the events possible.
