Clarke Square National Night Out Bigger and Better

Aug 15th, 2009

Clarke Square is just a small Milwaukee County park tucked away on the near Southside, but for the last couple years has hosted a big celebration, National Night Out. 2009 National Night Out was bigger and better than ever offering free food, music, games and give-aways. People of all types join in. Many of the older adults enjoyed the live music. The big favorite with the kids was the rock climbing wall. Another favorite was the t-shirts and give-aways. Kids had to get signatures from a number of law enforcement, public officials, and community leaders to obtain the gifts, which provided just the excuse for them to meet some of the people that serve their community every day. So many organizations come together to make this event possible every year that it would be difficult to mention them all; but all are committed to creating and maintaining a better Southside and a safe place to live, work, and raise families.
