We just wanted to pass along that Riverwest block captain Spike Bandy is featured in this month’s “Neighbor Spotlight” section (full page!) in the Riverwest Currents. He gives a “shout-out” for Safe & Sound when talking about his block watch work. Riverwest is currently not served by a Community Partner but Annie Weidert helps him out as needed. In fact Annie just talked with him and some other neighbors recently about plans for the next “Central Riverwest” block watch meeting. Our VISTA Community Leadership Coordinator Cacy Williams is working on mechanisms to support the organizing needs of established neighborhood leaders like Spike. These may include “best practices,” outreach materials, contacts and networking for problem solving.

Congratulations Spike on your recognition from the Currents and efforts to make Riverwest a safer place for all.
