Basura Bash and Unified Milwaukee

May 21st, 2010

Unified Milwaukee is for 88Nine radio station listeners who want to get to know and get involved with the organizations that are making a difference in Milwaukee. Basura Bash offers just that; an opportunity to meet and work side-by-side with some great individuals and organizations committed to building stronger neighborhoods. It is a day of community service and celebration. Safe & Sound Community Partners Maria Sandoval and Aaron Edwards talked about the annual event in an interview with 88NINE.

How did Basura Bash get started? One porch at a time, one conversation and one commitment. It takes time, but the individual residents, business owners and youth that want to see a cleaner and safer Milwaukee have accumulated and networked with the help of Safe & Sound Community Partners. Door-to-door, the Community Partners find those residents ready for change and bring them together.

Basura Bash will be bigger and better than ever this year, and it will only keep on growing. 88NINE will be there spreading the message on location Saturday, May 22nd. Come on out, join in. Just being there can make a difference.
