Southside Bash Muy Bueno!

May 23rd, 2010

Can you believe that more than 500 volunteers gathered at 32 community sites across the Southside and did everything from planting flowers to removing graffiti to cleaning up gutters and alleys! The sites ringed the Kosciuszko Park neighborhood and consisted of block clubs, local businesses, faith based groups and community based organizations.

The event was covered by the Journal Sentinel, Jennifer Reyes of FOX 6, Telemundo and CBS 58 news stations.

When our neighborhood leaders come together for the Basura Bash it creates a visible statement like a billboard for everyone to read: we want a clean and safe neighborhood and are willing to work for it. It is a fiesta every year for all those that strive for a better quality of life on their own blocks, something that is even more achievable when communities coalesce.
